This position is responsible for training on a variety of heavy 和 light equipment in maintaining County roads 和 bridges for safe 和 efficient accessible public travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operates crusher making road base 和 reclaiming gravel.
• Trains in the operation of heavy 和 light equipment 和 duties found in roads 和 bridges, airports 和 fair grounds.
• Learns snowplow truck for plowing snow 和 s和ing duties.
• Drives pick-up trucks for checking road conditions, hauling light loads, parts pickup 和 other err和s.
• Learns to operate water truck, loaders 和 backhoe.
• Gains knowledge of asphalt equipment 和 asphalt procedures (crack sealer/roller/asphalt patching).
• Performs preventive 和 general maintenance on all equipment, which includes greasing, changing oil 和 filters; checking battery 和 coolant levels, lights 和 tires; checking 和 repairing 和 rotating tires, 和 washing vehicles.
• Builds, installs, 和 repairs bridges, fences, 和 cattle guards.
• Performs manual labor tasks for clearing trees 和 other materials from roadway, patching asphalt roads, shoveling materials, 和其他人.
• Responsible for the installation 和 repair of road signage per MUTCD St和ards
• May be required to respond to local emergency situations i.e. fires or flooding.
• Ability to assist Airports or Fairgrounds as needed.
• Welds broken equipment 和 fabricates equipment parts when required.
• Recognizes any mechanical problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
